CLOCKTOWER OVERDRIVE

Take the wall. Own the loop.

A 21-second gameplay cut: wall ride, vertical loop and canal flight.

YOUR FIRST RACE

The next corner is a choice.

Acceleration is automatic.
You choose the line.

  1. Set up the exit.

Steer into the bend and ease your speed before the tight turns. Hold DRIFT for a slide, then release as the road opens.

  2. Take the inside.

Hold FLY to rise over the road edge and take a tighter line. Watch your thrust, return above the road, then release FLY to land.

  3. Make the move count.

Nitro refills slowly as you drive; clean corners, overtakes and stunt landings refill it faster. Save a burst for the straight and catch the next car.

Two reserves. Two decisions. Thrust powers flight, Skyloop’s grip and the Rocket’s flip. Overdrive suction is unlimited while held; release FLY and drive on the road to recharge. Nitro is your extra speed. A complete stunt earns its nitro when you land upright on the road.

SECOND TRACK / SKYLOOP RUN

Hold the upside-down line.

1.9 km. One vertical loop.
Choose it in the race garage.

Arrive on the road with thrust to spare. On a keyboard, hold G before the climb and all the way around. Mobile auto grip is on by default; turn it off in settings to hold GRIP yourself. Rocket uses suction, while Chrono uses hover-lock. Both spend normal thrust in the loop. Steer gently and stay centered.

Lose grip, run out of thrust or leave the edge and the car falls, then returns to the entrance with full thrust. The clock keeps running. Flight and stunts work on the straights; land before the loop, where both are disabled.

THIRD TRACK / CLOCKTOWER OVERDRIVE

Three forks. Your racing line.

Take the streets or the shortcut.
Grip is unlimited on Overdrive.

At each fork, choose the left street route or the right wall road, vertical loop or flight bridge. Hold G for suction through corners, walls and loops; it uses no flight thrust. Mobile auto grip handles useful corners and climbs by default. Brake before the tight street turns and steer gently while attached.

The flight bridge needs thrust: wait for the FLY cue, hold through the canal gap, then release above the landing road. Every fork also has a ground route. Lose grip on a climb or miss the bridge and you return before that fork; the clock keeps running.

CHOOSE YOUR MACHINE

Two ways to leave the road.

Pick your car before the start.
Each keeps its own best times.

01 / ROCKETPOWERED KICKFLIP

Roadster Rocket

A fast roadster with a thruster-assisted roll. Press FLIP from the road or the air to launch, rotate around the car’s length, and come down wheels first.

On the road
Higher top speed
In the air
Powered ground or air flip

Keep enough thrust for the flip, and let the thrusters cool before the next one.

02 / CHRONOHOVER & AIR ROLL

Chrono DMC

A hover coupe with folding wheels, more corner grip and lower flight energy use. Climb above three meters, then press ROLL while you have room to land.

On the road
More corner grip
In the air
More flight from a charge

Lift first, then roll. A late roll close to the ground can cost the landing reward.

FROM INSPIRATION TO PLAY

The flying Tesla Roadster inspiration.

A fictional flying car.
A racing line you can try.

Inspired by the flying Tesla Roadster concept, APEX / AIR puts you behind the wheel of the Roadster Rocket, an original, thruster-powered sports car. Drive, fly, kickflip and land in a free browser racing game. Its flight, suction and automatic road recharging are fictional arcade mechanics; APEX / AIR is an independent game, unaffiliated with Tesla or SpaceX.

GET STRAIGHT TO IT

Your hands.
Your racing line.

Use a keyboard, tilt your phone or drag the steering pad. Mobile racing offers tilt first: allow motion access when asked, hold your phone comfortably and center the steering before starting. Slide the left pad to steer; release to center it. Tilt resumes when enabled. Your right thumb chooses drift, flight, stunt or nitro. Skyloop and Overdrive apply grip automatically on mobile; desktop players hold G.

For a first run, choose Clocktower Sprint and Rookie, take one corner at a time, and try a burst of nitro on the opening straight.

BEFORE THE GREEN LIGHT

Good to know.

Am I racing other people?

All three tracks are solo races against three local AI drivers. Choose Rookie, Street or Expert rivals, follow your position during the race, and see your position and time at the line. APEX / AIR has no live multiplayer rooms.

Can I play on a phone?

Yes. Choose tilt or the draggable steering pad, with buttons for FLY, FLIP or ROLL, DRIFT and NITRO. Tilt needs motion access and working phone sensors; if either is unavailable, use the pad. Landscape gives the course and controls more room. Use Performance graphics if the game feels slow; sound and reduced motion are available in Controls & settings. A browser with WebGL support is required.

Where are my best times saved?

Your best times and preferences stay in this browser, with separate race records for each track, car and difficulty. No account is needed. They do not automatically follow you to another browser or device, and clearing browser data can remove them. Race records and flight-trial progress are kept separately.

Can I save and share my gameplay?

Keep recent gameplay for sharing is on by default where recording is supported. In a race or Flight Trial, open Pause or finish the run to preview your recent moment, then choose Share highlight for up to the latest 25 seconds. The video is prepared locally while the game stays paused; preview it, then share it where file sharing is supported or download it. Use Copy caption + link to include the game context and a playable link. Nothing uploads automatically. You can turn recording off for better performance. Your choice is remembered; action played while it was off cannot be recovered.

Do I have to fly or perform stunts to finish?

You can complete Clocktower Sprint on the road; flight offers tighter inside lines. Skyloop Run requires GRIP through its vertical loop. In Clocktower Overdrive, choose the left street route or the right wall, loop or flight shortcut at each fork. Hold G/GRIP for unlimited suction through corners, walls and loops; it does not use flight thrust. Every fork has a ground route, and stunts are optional on all three tracks. A complete, upright stunt landing adds nitro once per course segment.

What are the separate flight trials?

Six extra courses focus on aerial gates, vehicle stunts, deliberate time jumps and era-dependent routes. Their own scores, medals and ghosts stay separate from the sprint. Clocktower Sprint uses flight and stunts; time jumps belong to the trials.
