One of each number
Place the numbers 1 to 9 in every row, every column and every outlined 3 × 3 box. A number can appear only once in each.
A SMALL DAILY CHALLENGE
A clear board. A quiet moment. One good move at a time.
Your puzzle will be right here.
Select a cell, then a number. N toggles notes. Arrow keys move. Backspace erases.
A SIMPLE RULE. ENDLESS POSSIBILITIES.
You don't need to be good at math.
You just need a little logic.
Place the numbers 1 to 9 in every row, every column and every outlined 3 × 3 box. A number can appear only once in each.
The dark numbers are fixed clues. Look for a row, column or box with just one empty cell, then work out which number is missing. For example, a row with 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8 and 9 needs a 5.
Use Notes to mark numbers a cell could contain. When another cell rules a possibility out, remove that note. Small deductions add up.
FIND YOUR LEVEL
Easy puzzles can be solved by finding cells with just one possible number. Medium also asks you to spot the only place a number can go within a row, column or box. Hard adds deductions that remove possibilities, such as locked candidates and pairs.
Difficulty is based on the techniques our solver needs, rather than the number of clues alone. It is a guide, not a universal rating.
A SMALL DAILY RITUAL
The daily challenge is the same puzzle for everyone using this version of the game. A new puzzle begins at 00:00 UTC. Your unfinished board stays safe when the date changes.
Use the Daily tab to start today's challenge.
GOOD TO KNOW
A conflict means a number repeats within a row, column or box. A number can avoid those conflicts and still be wrong for the puzzle's unique solution. Check grid compares your entries with that solution and counts as assistance. You can play without checking.
Turn Notes on, then tap numbers to add or remove pencil marks in an empty cell. Notes don't count as answers. A hint explains a supported deduction. If your existing entries are wrong, the game asks you to correct them first. Viewing a hint or checking entries counts as assistance; undo does not erase that record.
When browser storage is available, your entries, notes, time and undo history are saved on this device. Up to 24 puzzles have their own saves. Progress does not sync across devices, and clearing browser data removes it. If storage is unavailable, you can keep playing but the game will tell you it cannot save.
Yes. Accepting a shared link or puzzle code opens the same starting puzzle (or resumes your own saved attempt for that code). It does not contain your entries or notes. If you are opening the downloadable HTML file locally, send the file and puzzle code together.
Keep up to 24 puzzles with entries, notes and undo history in this browser. Use Saved puzzles to revisit them. When all slots are full, the game asks before replacing the oldest puzzle. A puzzle code always reopens its starting board, but it cannot recover entries after you clear browser data.
