Oxygen Rush guide: grab the Cell, cool it, then extract

In Oxygen Rush, grab the Oxygen Cell, keep it cool by passing through O2 depot rings, and reach the green extraction pad during the final 30 seconds. Your goal is the highest score when the two-minute round ends.

This browser space multiplayer game uses low-gravity movement and pulse steals. The Cell makes you a moving target: holding it earns points, but pressure builds until you cool it or lose it in an overload. Learn a short depot route before attempting a long escape.

Use short inputs to learn the moon’s momentum

Low gravity lets you travel in long arcs, so begin steering toward a depot before you reach it. Try a short burst, release, and watch where your momentum carries you. Air hops and sustained lift use boost; keep some available for a correction near the ground. On touch devices, turn to landscape for more aiming room.

Your first 30 seconds: learn one route

  1. Move toward the center Oxygen Cell beacon. Pick up an O2 capsule on the way to practice movement and add supplies to your score.
  2. If the Cell is on the ground, move close enough to claim it. If another astronaut holds it, follow the carrier marker and look for a pulse opportunity.
  3. Once carrying, choose a nearby depot ring and pass through it. Watch the pressure drop so you know you crossed the cooling area.
  4. Choose your next depot before bursting away. Repeat a short route until you can move, aim, and read the pressure meter without stopping.

Keep the Cell moving and the pressure under control

Carrying the Cell earns points over time. Fast movement and airborne travel improve that hold scoring and slow pressure growth, but they do not remove the need to cool it. At full pressure, an overload knocks you away and drops the Cell for someone else to claim.

O2 depot rings are your cooling stops. An ordinary O2 pickup adds score and boost; it does not replace a depot visit for the carrier. Take a route that joins reachable rings rather than chasing every collectible across the map.

The green extraction pad becomes useful in the final 30 seconds. Reach it while holding the Cell to earn an extraction bonus and reduce pressure. Extraction does not end the round or remove the Cell: keep moving, watch the clock, and defend your score until the result.

Turn a pulse steal into an escape

Aim the reticle at the carrier and fire a pulse. A successful tag on an unshielded carrier transfers the Cell to you. As soon as that happens, change your plan from chasing to reaching a depot. Staying to trade pulses gives the other player an easy chance to take it back.

Pickups offer temporary shield, overdrive, or shockwave abilities. Read the active ability in your HUD and use the advantage to continue your route. Fast movement also builds rush-chain points, so you can improve your score while trying to regain the Cell.

Know who you are playing with

Choose Create Private Room, then Invite Friends to share the room link. Up to 12 real players can join. With at least two real players connected, Party Rush activates a score bonus; the connection display shows your live room status.

Low-population sessions can include practice astronauts whose names end in “-Sim”. They move, pulse, and appear on your local leaderboard, but they are simulated practice opponents rather than people in the room. At the finish, compare extractions, pressure bursts, and best chain, then choose one route improvement for your rematch.
